Highway Robbery committed on John William Burgess Tregurtha

On the 6th of November in 1888, John William Burgess Tregurtha was at the Williamstown Racecourse, probably watching his favourite horse run while wining and dining with acquaintances.  At some point he was robbed of some of his most precious possessions, but how this happened we don’t know as yet.  Was he threatened with a gun, a knife, what?  One day we might add more to this most interesting yet outrageous story.
