My name is Leigh John Tregurtha I am the youngest of three and son of mike Edward Tregurtha and Gloria Jane Tregurtha, I am 32 years old and my family originates from Cornwall. Having never actually lived in Cornwall it was my grandad who was from that part of the world, unfortunately I never knew him as he died when my dad was young but I have heard many stories. I grew up with my parents and brother and sister in a small village in Oxfordshire living on a small holding living what I now realise was the perfect family life. As a youngster I was always out after school in the village playing footie riding motor cross bikes and generally enjoying village life. After primary school I never really enjoyed school I left secondary school with poor grades wandering how and what I was going to do. My parents then split up once I left school I was in and out of jobs I worked in a fishing tackle shop for 5yrs then delivery driving, labouring then I got a job as a green keeper which then set me up for my trade today which is a self employed landscape gardener in the isle of Harris!! Isle of Harris I hear you say why there and where is it!!! I’ll come to that.
After 8 yrs as a green keeper I got board and again went from job to job in this time I got into using drugs and my life started to fall apart. Even with great efforts from my family they couldn’t pull me from my addiction. My parents split up after 25yrs of marriage and they have always stood by me. After battling addiction for around 8 yrs I went to try and free myself and moved up to stay with my mother and her new partner in the isle of Harris, the western isles of Scotland. In this time one of my best friends committed suicide which then I returned back to Oxfordshire for his funeral. This time was extreamley hard as I was living alone back in the depths of drug addiction this went on for another 2 yrs. After many nights awake thinking of family, friends and my friend that died I said to myself enough was enough and moved from my address in Oxfordshire and moved back with my mother in the Hebrides. The first 3 mths was very hard for everyone but gradually I started to find myself again, started doing garden jobs round the local village and ended up building up a good customer base which brings me to today. The last year in my life has been spent finding out who I am and what life is about and in this last year I’ve seen what hard work can do, although I’m 32 I still don’t know what career I would of liked but I’m really happy doing what I’m doing.
Since Dec 2012 I have lived in the isle of Harris, freed my self from 10ish yrs of drug addiction and saved enough money to have myself 3 mths in Thailand, which then brings me to my next chapter in my life. I met the girl of my dreams, typical Thailand I suppose!!! But no she’s a good one not stereo typical Thai girl and most importantly she makes me happy and she is going to have our first child in July, wooow it happened fast!!! But we love each other and to me that’s all that matters. So I returned to Scotland in January to earn some cash and return to Thailand in July, hopefully for good. After all that’s gone on in my life one thing has imprinted in my brain and that’s family, through everything my family has always been there even when I told them I’m having a baby with a Thai girl, as I’m sure some people would be judgmental!!! Through drugs, money troubles, being on the wrong side of the law, they have always been there which is why I think I have great interest in this site. So that’s a rough biography on the life of Leigh tregurtha!! Thanks family I wouldn’t be where I am today.
